Getting a Black Belt is a goal I’ve had for five years. It means a lot to me to accomplish this. It means perseverance. It gives me the confidence that I can reach other difficult goals. I’m proud that I am one of the few people who have actually made it to become a Black Belt. Many aspire but few attain. Getting a Black Belt is an accomplishment that will mean something to me for my whole life. An area that karate has helped me in: Karate has helped me in many, many ways. It has helped my manners, perseverance, and respect towards my friends and family. But an area I think karate has helped me the most in is confidence. Karate has helped build up my confidence. I believe I can do anything. I am confident in my work, at all times. Karate has helped that. Karate has greatly helped my life.

Ode to Logan Watson

If being nice was the only qualification for Black Belt,
Then Logan Watson passed a long time ago, most of us felt.

Logan’s list of outstanding attributes are plenty …
And that’s a direct reflection on parents Steve and Jenny.

Early on in the self-defense Logan was all thumbs.
But with hard work, he’s now awesome at karate, and on the drums.

Logan’s attitude and perseverance are unmatched.
With these qualities, the future he has unlatched.

I know Levi, Lindsey and Lily are also proud.
I’m also sure when Logan’s on his drums he’s pretty loud!

Thanks, Logan, all these years for being such a cool dude.
Hopefully one day we will grow up and be just like you.
